    All Levels Event

    The Regatta offers great fun and team-building for novice or intermediate community teams, as well as an opportunity for competitive sport teams to compete in an ERDBA event. Test your team's abilities in 200-meter races (Community & Sport Teams) and 500-meter races (Sport Teams). Race day is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.

    The Cooper River is the ideal water venue for dragon boating, drawing praise from athletes and international experts for its sheltered, straight, race course. At the heart of the venue is the newly renovated Cooper River Park, home to the Camden County Boathouse, a spectacular facility with all the finest amenities.

About Cooper River Park

Cooper River Park is a historic greenway along Cooper River, a major tributary to the Delaware River traveling through several communities in southern New Jersey, just east of Philadelphia. The recently renovated park is home to the Camden County Boathouse, a spectacular facility with all the finest amenities.

Cooper River is the perfect setting for dragon boat racing, drawing praise from athletes and international experts for its sheltered, minimal current, race course. It has hosted numerous Dad Vail Ragatta rowing events, including the IRAs, NCAAs, and the SRAA regattas, in addition to many local high school, collegiate and master’s regattas.

The Athlete’s Village is located on N. Park Drive at Veteran’s Island (next to LaScala’s Restaurant). Marshaling and boat launch will take place between the island and the restaurant.

 

Event Producer

The Cooper River Dragon Boat Festival is produced by 22 Dragons, one of North America’s most experienced dragon boat event organizers. 22 Dragons has worked with the CRDBC to create a memorable and well-organized festival where fun and friendly competition will take center stage. Expect a first-class event perfect for both beginners and competitive sport teams.

 

As a bonus, 22 Dragons’ experienced and friendly staff also works with Community Teams in a pre-festival practice session to ensure that new paddlers are at their best on race day.
